Inscription
Debugging the Putnam stone, comparing it to Vital and Cemetery Records, this is what I come up with:
In Memory of
Deacon Gideon Putnam
Who died 17 May 1811 aged 84 years
and of Hannah his wife (side note, she is Hannah Brown of Salem, they married 18 Jun 1752)
who died 6 Nov 1813 aged 81 years
and their departed children
Hannah 2 May 1753 died 24 Nov 1773
Gideon 19 Sep 1756 ... 19 Dec 1773
Solomon 24 May 1759 ... 19 July 1759
Anna 12 Apr 1761 ... 2 May 1761
Abraham 16 Dec 1762 ... 25 Jan 1782
Jonathan 12 Feb 1765 ... 24 Apr 1765
Elizabeth 27 Oct 1766 ... 25 Feb 1767
Elijah 26 Feb 1771 ... 25 Mar 1771
Hannah 29 Jan 1774 ... 2 Aug 1795
Of their children not mentioned on the stone is
Samuel (1768-1853)
Comparing Cemetery records,
We are missing a Gideon
We have a Samuel and 2 Sarahs (Samuel and Sarah have their own stones), there is a second Sarah 1839-1841
We have an "Hairam" (should that be Hiram? - there is no Hiram Putnam in Vital Records) - This is probably the missing Gideon
