MILLERSBURG- Louisa "Lou Jane" Miller, 81, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 20. Lou Jane was born in Williamstown, PA on April 14, 1933, the only child of Raymond and Helen Walter Fromme. The family moved to Halifax in 1937 where she attended local school before transferring to Millersburg to attend high school. She was a graduate of Millersburg High School class of 1951 and a proud alumni and organizer of many class reunions. After graduation, she was employed as a secretary at Bell Telephone, the local PPL office in Millersburg, as well as the Law Office of Allen Shaffer. In April 1955, she married the love of her life, Thomas Miller, and they moved Quantico, VA where he was stationed at the Marine base. Their first daughter was born at the US Naval Hospital in December, 1955. After Tom's deployment to Okinawa they moved to York, Fredericksburg and Williamsport, the family took up permanent residence back in their hometown of Millersburg where their second and third daughters were born. Lou Jane enjoyed homemaking and supported her husband throughout his career. Upon his retirement, they became residents of Marco Island, Florida where they spent eight months of the year. Fishing with the Rissinger's and Long's was a favorite sport in Florida. She was an avid card player and card club member over the years. She was a team bowler on both couples and womens leagues at Valley Lanes, a member of the Ladies Golf leagues at both Lykens Valley and Harrisburg Country Club in Pennsylvania and Lely Country Club in Florida. She was always ready with a quick wit and a hot meal from her kitchen. Our family is left with many beautiful photographic memories that she provided with her camera. We enjoyed family vacations together to the Ocean City beaches. She inspired those around her to put family first, adored her children, and as Nana, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Grace UM Church and very active in the Nearly New mission of the church. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years and her three daughters; Wendy Etzweiler and her husband Ken, Cindy Southard and her husband Lou, and Tracy Lesser and her husband Glenn; Grandchildren, Nicholas Etzweiler and wife Kristine, Keith Etzweiler and his wife Anna, Tyler Bower, Kyle Southard, Jillian Kaup and husband Bart, Alexa Southard, Megan Lesser, Alexandra Lesser and David Lesser; Great grandchildren, Evan and Bailee Etzweiler, Carter Bower and Weston Kaup.
