Bernice M. Batt, 84, formerly of Florida and Hayward, died Thursday, March 3, at the Remington House in Pardeeville, Wis.
She was born Nov. 10, 1920 in the township of Onalaska, LaCrosse County, Wis., the daughter of Maurice and Bessie (Amundson) Schea. On June 9, 1943, she married Robert James Sales in Astoria, Ore. Her husband preceded her in death. In November 1987 she married Nelson Batt. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1998. She moved from her residence in Florida to Pardeeville in March 1998 to be close to her daughter. She made her home at Parkview Apartments until moving to the Remington House in October 2002. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Pardeeville.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Leonard) Kasper of Pardeeville; a son, Raymond J. Sales of Key Largo, Fla.; four grandchildren, Robert (Trisha) of Oshkosh, David (Gina) of Phelps, Amy (Jason) of Madison and Jay (Renee) of Jacksonville, Ark.; three great-grandchildren, Dane, Alexis and Haley; brothers and sisters, Clarence "Edward" (Helen) of Ill., Norma (Roy) Woodside of Ill., and Joyce (Charles) Weinreich of Florida; nieces, nephews, other near relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Merlin, Raymond and Norman.
Funeral: Memorial services were conducted March 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pardeeville. Pastor Edward Lindemann officiated.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the school building fund at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pardeeville.
