Charlotte Susan (Ochs) HUDSON (12/14/1945 - 05/18/2014)

HUDSON, Charlotte Susan (Ochs) 68 Years of Life Charlotte passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital from complications of abdominal surgery. Charlotte was born December 14, 1945 in Colfax, Washington to Virgil and Elizabeth Ochs. Being an only child she was a bit spoiled, but she had a wonderful childhood and was very close to her parents who both have preceded her in death. Charlotte worked for seven years at WSU as a secretary where she met her future husband Paul Hudson. They were married in 1972 in Colfax and then bought their farm in Deer Park in 1973 where they have lived ever since. Charlotte thought Deer Park was the perfect place to live - close to Spokane, yet a quiet rural lifestyle which she loved. She worked as a legal secretary for nearly 20 years for local lawyer Dave Burdega. Charlotte loved to decorate her home for each of the holidays and enjoyed going to all the craft shows with her friends to get her decorations. One of Charlotte's greatest pleasures the last 20 years was casino gambling. Not only did she and Paul frequent all the local Indian casinos, she loved the chartered plane flights to Laughlin and Wendover, Nevada. Charlotte was a charter member of a women's pinochle group formed 35 years ago. She loved playing cards with those dear friends once a month. She is currently up in Heaven playing six-handed pinochle with her friends - Alma, Kay, Lillie, Myrtle and Ramona. Charlotte is survived by her husband Paul, and their only child, daughter Monica Bundy and her husband Larry Bundy, all of Deer Park. She also leaves behind her two adorable granddaughters, Carlie and Rebecca Bundy. In memory of Charlotte she would ask one and all to enjoy your family - go to a movie, go to Red Lobster, and visit a casino. Paul, Monica, and Larry are especially thankful to all the kind and loving doctors, nurses, and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital who cared for her the last two weeks. Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Hudson will be in Deer Park at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Open Door Congregational Church with Rev. Dr. Daniel N. Berg officiating followed with interment at the Zion Hill/Trysil Cemetery in Clayton, Washington. Funeral home visitation will be Thursday, 4;00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
