Kevin W. Ferguson, of Salem, passed into Heaven's gate on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was born June 23, 1966 at RMH. He has now found the peace in heaven that he struggled to find here on earth. He was a sweet soul, with many friends and a loving family and always had a smile on his face. He loved the Lord, his family and his coworkers at Damon Co. of Salem where he had been employed for 6 years as a machinist. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, loved to hunt, as well as a deep love of animals, especially his companion and best buddy cat Lulu. He was an avid Nascar racing fan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ermine and Edith Mullins and Harold E. Weikle Sr., as well as uncle Sidney Ferguson and niece Tiffany Lawhorn Allen.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Jerry and Nancy Ferguson of Salem; and his sister, Carol Lawhorn and husband Rodney; as well as his nephew Drew Lawhorn; five aunts; four uncles; 13 cousins; and grandmother Lucille Weikle.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Pastor John Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday May 23, 2014. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the City of Salem Animal Shelter, 1301 Indiana Street, Salem, VA 24153.
