Roger Green Harvey, 100, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church with Nate McLaughlin and Alan Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Harvey was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Megargel to Henry Green and Maude Odom Harvey. Roger's family moved to the Muleshoe area, where he spent the rest of his years growing up. He graduated from West Texas State Teacher's High School in 1933 and from West Texas Teacher's College.

While at college, Roger married Anna Lee Riley. They were married for 68 years. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Harvey's life was dedicated to the teaching profession, serving his community in various civic organizations and his church.

Roger married Margaret Green Taylor Harvey on Sept. 23, 2006.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lismon and his wife Ruby, Clark and wife Carol and Rudolf Harvey and wife Fredda; his sisters, Clara and her husband Claude Coffman, and Lois and her husband Wilson Witherspoon; and two sons-in-law, Eual Strickland and Orvel Ray Luster.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, and her sons, Bobby and wife Jeanine Taylor, Billy Taylor, Jimmy and his wife Vicky; his daughters, Norma Briggs and husband John and Rojanna and husband Raby Ratliff; and a sister, Freda Shuttlesworth.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 1400 Texas 214, Plains, TX 79355; or Broken Wall Ministries, PMB 305, 7306 S.W. 34th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79121.
