Tom Stark, born Thomas McCrary Stark, passed away May 20, 2014. He was born January 16, 1955, to Dick and Jane McCrary Stark at the Gainesville Sanitarium. He was the first grandchild to Tom and Dorothy McCrary of Waverly, TN, and held his position as angel until their death. He was also adored by his Grandmother Lucy Stark with whom he often fished and hunted.
Tom gave with a golden heart seeing to it that those he loved and even stumbled upon were taken care of. He understood and always had compassion for those less fortunate.
Known for his love of the outdoors, Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He graduated Gainesville High School in 1974, and completed the Farm and Ranch Management Program at TCU. Tom was co-owner and operator of Miller's Cleaners for almost 20 years.
Tom was father to beautiful daughters Carly Kaye and husband, Kyle McKamie, and Hayley Jill and husband, Sean Loftice produced from a loving marriage to Tracy Ann Sluder Stark. Richard and Margaret Jo Stark, Dave and Leslie Ann Stark, Holly Stark, Lucy and Steven Sutton, several nieces and a nephew also survive him as does dear friends Shirley Paclik, Rudy Paclik, Roger Martin and Wally Cox. Preceding him in death are Jane Stark, Tom and Dorothy McCrary, Lucy Stark, Michael David Stark, and Randy Scott Sluder.
Services are Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with interment following at Fairview Cemetery. Reverend Mark Loewen of First Christian Church will officiate. No visitation is planned.
