Sherri Lynn Cox of Chickasha was born on April 20, 1956 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Finis Watson Pruitt and Alice Angeline (Nims) Pruitt. She passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years.
Sherri attended Maysville Schools. She married John Cox on July 27, 1973 in Foster, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and they had made their home in Lawton, Duncan, and Chickasha. She loved to cook, clean house, and do laundry. Sherri enjoyed going to garage sales, flea markets, rodeos, and playing Wahoo. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Duncan. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Cox of the home in Chickasha. Sons: Steven Russell of Burkburnett, Texas and Gerald Colliver of Chickasha. Daughters: Michelle of North Carolina and Angela of San Antonio, Texas. Sisters: Renee Pruitt of Pauls Valley; Lois Smith of Ada; Joyce Jackson of Sulphur; and Mary Ann Smith of Blackwell. and 4 grandchildren.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Finis Pruitt and Eugene and Alice Smith; a brother Harry Pruitt; and a sister Ann Watson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Arrangements are under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK
