He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 23, 1942 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted as being employed as a Launder and also as Single, without dependents.

Thomas died in the "Line Of Duty" when his plane crashed in Maine while training during the war.

1st Lt.Dennis S Smyth of Tennessee was also killed in this crash.
