Six-year-old boy dies
offer being hit by auto
CHAMBERSBURG — A six-year old
boy was struck and killed here
Wednesday when he darted out in
front of a car
Jamie T. Henry, of 467 Ohio Ave.,
was pronounced dead at the
Chambersburg Hospital by Franklin
County Coroner Herman P. Bender
less than 30 minutes after the accident.
The child's death was the third
Franklin County traffic fatality in a
week, and brings this year's total to
18.
Borough police said the 4:36 p.m
accident occurred when the child
ran in front of a car driven by G F
Chismar, Grand Point Road, while
the car was traveling in the 1700
block of Scotland Avenue.
Police said no charges will be filed
in the incident.
Born May 10, 1978, Jamie Todd
Henry was the son of Barry Dean
and Jill Marie (Shaffer) Henry, 467
Ohio Ave., Chambersburg.
He was a member of the King
Street United Brethren Church,
Chambersburg, and the youth group
of the church.
He was a first-grade student at the
Mary B. Sharpe Elementary School.
In addition- to his parents, he is
survived by a sister, Julie Marie
Henry, at home, paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Cyril K.
Henry, Fayetteville; maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Welty
Shaffer, Chambersburg; paternal
great-grandmothers, Mrs. Rhoda
Henry, no address; Mrs. Catherine
Martin, Fayetteville, and maternal'
great-grandmother. Hazel Shaffer,
Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center.
Services will be held at 10*30 a.m.
Saturday in the. King Street United
Brethren Church with the Rev Paul
B. Baker and the Rev David G
Rawley officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawns
Memorial Gardens...

Memorial Square, Chambersburg.
