Funeral services for Hazel L. Babcock, 88, of Rock Island, who died Friday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Hazel Long was born April 29, 1896, in Rock Island County(Minnesota Birth Index and Census show her born in Minnesota), daughter of William L. and Hazel Stewart Long. She was married to Ralph Babcock Jr. in Rock Island. He died in 1958.
Mrs. Babcock had been a teacher at the former Mound View School in Moline.
She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rock Island.
Among survivors are a sister, Florence Long of Rock Island, and several nephews.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. William B. Slater, pastor of the First Christian church in Burlington, and a personal friend of the bridegroom.
