John Collins
Funeral services for John Collins, well known local resident who died at St Vincents hospital early yesterday will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from the home of his daughter Mrs. William Young of Shelton Street and at 9:30 from St Josephs Church, Shelton.
Mr. Collins is survived by one son, Michael Collins, proprietor of the Central Billiard parlor and Central hotel 844-846 Main Street and two daughters, Mrs. William Young and Mrs. Charles Rumble of Shelton, and 14 grandchildren.
He came to this country 40 years ago from his birthplace in Limerick, Ireland and settled in Shelton where he made his home for 36 years. He had made his home here for the past 4 years.
Death followed a fall down a flight of stairs on Tuesday night from which Mr. Collins sustained a fractured skull. He was removed to St. Vincent's hospital where he died early yesterday morning.
