Obituary:“Joseph Clark Stickney was born on April 3, 1819 in West Andover, Essex, Massachusetts. Joseph was the son of Joseph Stickney and Lucebia Lucretia Clark. Joseph was the grandson of Abraham Stickney, Jr. (1758 – 1821) and Abigail Bell (1758 – 1850). Joseph Clark married Rachel Cram on December 5, 1839 according to the marriage records of Peterborough, Hillsborough, New Hampshire. Rachel Cram died on June 28, 1855 in Peterborough. She was buried in the Village Cemetery there. Elizabeth Jane Stuart was Joseph’s 2nd wife. According to an obituary for Elizabeth Jane Stuart, she was also born in Peterborough, New Hampshire on March 19, 1817. Brother Stickney was president of the High Priest quorum about 20 years but owing to the infirmities of old age, he and his wife moved to Murray in 1901 to spend their remaining days with his only child, Mrs. W. H. Atwood. He died on May 19th leaving an aged wife, one child, eleven grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He died as he had lived, an honest and noble Latter-day Saint, beloved and respected by all who knew him. Blessed is the memory of Grandpa Stickney.”
