Mr. Sparks was a native of Washington County, TN, and son of the late Estelle F. & Lillie Mashburn Sparks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Brown and Dorothy Cole; and two brothers, Donald Sparks and David Mack Sparks.
Mr. Sparks was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Jonesborough.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Sparks was a builder both commercial and homes. After his retirement, he spent many hours in his workshop making beautiful items from wood. When he was unable to go to his workshop, he enjoyed watching "Walker" re-runs with his grandson.
