Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Valmore and Emma (Ayotte) Normandin.
A WWII Veteran of the Merchant Marines, Mr. Normandin was the Owner and President of Normandin Chevrolet, Woonsocket for thirty years. He graduated from the former Hill College and Suma Cum Laude from Northeastern University. Oscar was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Albion and was an avid golfer and member of Kirkbrae Country Club, Lincoln for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Normandin and his wife Sue of Bellingham and James Normandin and his wife Peggy of Cumberland, a daughter, Anne Marsh and her husband Peter of Cumberland, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late David Normandin and brother of the late Phyllis Belhumeur and Estelle Pickering.
His funeral will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 8:45 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., Albion. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland.
