Age 23, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. She left so young to be with our Lord, her grandfather, her father, Brian Teske, and friends to guide her on her journey. Ashley loved her family and friends; she would do anything for them. She lived her life to the fullest and in her own way. Ashley may have appeared hard on the outside to many, but inside she was soft and sweet. She loved motorcycles, 4wheelers, playing in the hills, and her family. If you were close to her then you were considered family. Ashley was always up for a good time and was often known to be the life of the party. She worked for C&B Stripping and Sealcoating and was a caregiver for her paralyzed adopted sister. Ashley is survived by her mother, Robin Ripley-Teske; biological father, Richard Davis; brothers, Chris and Steven Curtis; nieces; nephews; and grandparents.Ashley N. ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police say a 23-year-old Roseburg woman is dead after a shooting in Northeast Roseburg Tuesday night.

Police were called to a residence at 1676 NE Jacobson at about 8:46 pm, for a report that someone had been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and found Ashley Nicole Davis was suffering from life threatening injuries. Kathy Ann Marshall, 51, of Roseburg was also injured in the shooting, and police say her injuries were not life threatening.

Davis later died at the hospital.

Police say they identified Michael Carl Gardner, 19, of Roseburg as the shooter, and just over an hour later officers found him at a residence on Morris Street.

Officers arrested Gardner on a felony warrant from a different case, and say charges from the shooting are pending.

Jason Walker says he lives at the residence where the shooting happened. "I was up in the front room on a ladder trying to hang an awning, and all I heard was three or four shots."
Sgt. Jeff Eichenbusch from the Roseburg Police Department says that Gardner and Davis were known to each other, but authorities are not releasing details of their relationship at this point.

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is investigating.

ROSEBURG — Police in the Southern Oregon city of Roseburg have arrested a 19-year-old man in the shooting of two women, one of whom died.

Jail records showed Michael Carl Robert Gardner was held without bail Wednesday on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The News-Review reports he was arrested at a nearby friend's home shortly after the Tuesday night shooting that left 23-year-old Ashley Nicole Davis dead and 51-year-old Kathy Ann Marshall wounded.

There was no immediate word on a motive for the shooting, or Gardner's relationship with the two women.

ROSEBURG, Oregon, April 30, 2014 -- The man who pleaded guilty to causing the death in 2014 of a Roseburg woman will spend 20 years in prison.

A judge sentenced Michael Gardner on September 18 in the death of 23-year-old Ashley Davis.

Gardner pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter, attempted murder and felon in possession of a firearm as part of a plea deal.

Deputy District Attorney Shannon Sullivan said the victim's family agreed to the plea deal instead of continuing on with the trial.

In April of 2014, police say Gardner shot Davis in the 1600 block of Jacobson Street.

Davis was taken to Mercy Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Police said the suspect and victim knew each other.
