Wilfred worked for over 40 years in rice farming. He enjoyed the special challenges that rice farming held- unpredictable weather, long days of hard work, manual labor, and "fixing" the combines and tractors. He rarely met a stranger. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He enjoyed rural life and living simply. Especially gardening and fattening up the snapping turtles he found in the rice fields. In his retirement, Wilfred enjoyed raising pigeons, gardening, and telling everybody the best way to grow rice.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Michael Felton, and the staff of Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Kinder Retirement Center and Heart of Hospice, for their special care during his long illness.
