Wilma Jo Cox was born November 18, 1930 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late William Royce and Frankie Wilma Russom Lambert.
She was united in marriage to Charles Mason Cox. Mr. Cox preceded her in death on May 29, 1996.
Mrs. Cox was a Licensed Practical Nurse for McNairy General Hospital for 23 years. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
Mrs. Cox departed this life on May 16, 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 5 Months, 28 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Freida Skelton and husband Jimmy of Selmer, TN, Elaine Cox and companion Elbert Edwards, III of Memphis, TN; two sons, Charles Wayne Cox and wife Leighanne of Selmer, TN, Joe Lee Cox of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren, Russell Haynie of Corinth, MS, Mallory Cox and fiance Charlie Graham of Selmer, TN, Mason Cox of Selmer, TN; two brothers, Jack Lambert and wife Christine of Selmer, TN, Frank Lambert and wife Glenda of Adamsville, TN; three sisters, Clara Rose Johnson of Selmer, TN, Dale Rowsey Foster and husband Herman of Jackson, TN, Carolyn Ashe and husband Gerald of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Lambert, Malcolm Lambert; a sister, Joan Lambert.
