Antonie "Toni" Schwettmann, 100, of Brenham, formerly of Rosenberg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 in Trinity Care Center. She was born Aug. 14, 1903 to August and Louise (Nordt) Kolwes in the Phillipsburg Community of Washington County. She was married to Edward F. Schwettmann who passed away in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward F. Schwettmann; daughter Dorothy Mae Schwettmann; son-in-law Burney Hugo; daughter-in-law Martha Steffek Schwettmann; and several brothers and sisters.
Toni is survived by her son Edwin "Sonny" Schwettmann of Houston; daughters Cossette "Cozy" Hugo, of Brenham; her two grandsons whom she loved very much, Marc Schwettmann and Michael Schwettmann, both of Houston; sisters Mae DeVault; and Ruby McLain, both of Brenham, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday Nov. 28, 2003 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 29, 2003 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Bill Derrick presiding at both services.
Pallbearers will be Marc Schwettmann, Michael Schwettmann, Tommy Roehe, Kermit Kolwes. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Schulte, Herman Bentke and Jay DeVault.
For those wishing, memorials may be given to Hospice-Brazos Valley in Brenham or Salem Lutheran Church of Salem in Brenham.
