Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph P. Liesenfelt, 81, of Mundelein is 10 am Saturday at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 N. Lake St. (west side of Rt. 45), Mundelein. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. He was born August 5, 1925 in Calumet City, IL and died Monday, December 4, 2006 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Mr. Liesenfelt was a resident of Mundelein for 57 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II, having completed 35 missions as a B29 Aerial Gunner with the 20th AirForce on Guam Island.

Survivors include his children, Sue (John) Hagel of Mundelein, Bob (Deb) Liesenfelt of DeForest, WI., Tom (Lori) Liesenfelt of Minneapolis, MN; his grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Hagel, Joy Hagel, Shannon, Nicholas, Christopher, Amy and Jennifer Liesenfelt.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Dorothy; brothers, Anthony Liesenfelt, Leslie Liesenfelt; his sisters, Evelyn Halon, Loraine Fairfield.

Visitation is from 3-9 pm Friday at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 West Maple Ave. (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt. 176), Mundelein.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the University of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary.
