Clyde Raymond Evans, 83, Brookville, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.

Born Dec. 14, 1930, in Punxsutawney, he was a son of the late Wayne Boyd and Eva Burkett Evans.

Mr. Evans was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II.

He worked for TW Phillips for over 30 years.

On June 21, 1981, he married Helen Louise Snyder. She survives and resides in Brookville.

His enjoyments were gardening, refurbishing old cars and welding. He also enjoyed football and baseball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry (Carol) Evans of Brookville and Denny (Darlene) Evans of Punxsutawney; a stepson, John (Amy) Kells of Rochester, N.Y. a stepdaughter, Patricia Commons of Brookville; two grandchildren, Jessica Evans of Brookville and Dayna (Terry) Domino of Phoenix, Ariz.; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Naomi) Evans of Punxsutawney; and two sisters, Lois Caldwell and Doris Startzell, both of Brookville.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Milford and Wayne Evans; and three sisters: Minnie Furman, Martha Brosius and Alma Pifer.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2014, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Timothy Spence. Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Evans' memory to Asera Care Hospice, Brookville.
