Calvin Lee Roy Holder was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Patterson. He left peacefully Aug. 1, 2004, after a brief battle with cancer. Lee was a graduate of Orestimba High School in Patterson, class of 1950. He then enlisted in the Navy where he served aboard the USS Boxer during the Korean Conflict.

He and his wife, Naomi, have made their home here in Visalia since their marriage in March 1959. He retired as a department manager from Sears after 45 years.

He was a quiet, hard-working man who was devoted to his family and took great pleasure in his three children, nine grandchildren, and 7.5 great-grandchildren. He also adopted numerous stray cats and dogs over the years, all of whom will miss him greatly.

He is also survived by his mother of Patterson; his brother; and his sister.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Cypress Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of Tulare County for their caring support and keeping a smile on his face to the end. We also thank Care Medical for their caring and generous support of those in Hospice care.

Chapel services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia. Burial will be Visalia District Cemetery.
