Mrs. Leander Montag of New Hamburg died Monday at St Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 90.
Born at Bamberg Sept. 29, 1877, she was the former Magdelena Dorscht, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dorscht.
She resided in New Hamburg for the past 27 years.
She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg.
Surviving are two sons, Alfred of Petersburg, Clayton of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Milton (Luella) Haffner of New Hamburg; one sister, Catherine of St. Agatha; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband predeceased her in 1941.
The body will be at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p.m. Mass will be recited Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family RC Church, Rev. Louis Batte officiating.
Interment will be in St. Agatha RC Church cemetery.
