Jon Keith Griffin, age 56, of San Augustine passed away in Tyler, Texas after a lengthy illness. Prior to his illness Jon worked as a pipeline welder and inspector for various contractors in the oil and gas industry. He was a long-time member of Pipeliners Local 798 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jon loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and enjoyed training and working with his dogs.

Jon is survived by his sons, Jeremy Griffin of San Augustine, Texas and Jonathan Griffin of Beach City, Texas; brothers Jason Hines of San Augustine, Paul Griffin and Jeff Griffin of Lumberton, Texas; sister Gayle Griffin of Lumberton, Texas; parents, Muriel Jean Hines and husband Cleo of San Augustine and Malcolm Griffin and wife Dorothy of Lumberton, Texas and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden. Bro. Doug Fincher and Bro. Chris Burris will officiate.
