Emily Metcalfe Fronk was raised in Bracken County (Brooksville) Kentucky. She married Edwin Alexander Monroe Sr. from Falmouth Kentucky. They moved to Florida where her husband was an insurance agent. After his parents died, they returned to Falmouth to take over the family farm and house. They had three children: Edwin Alexander Monroe Jr. (Born 1928), Sally Ann (Born 1930), and Theodore Frazer Monroe (Born 1938).
