Raymond Malloy Markham, 78, of Axton, VA died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Markham was born on May 22, 1935 in Caswell County, NC a son of the late Earl Richard Markham and the late Minnie Clayton Markham. He was a self-employed concrete finisher.
On August 7, 1956 he married Stella Hammock Markham who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Markham; a son, Earl Raymond Markham; a brother Marvin Markham; a sister Doris Newcomb; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence Markham, James Markham, Earl Richard "Junior" Markham, and Curtis Markham.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Markham family.
