He was an avid genealogist, loved to fish and was a true practical joker. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Rita; children, Daniel (Caroline) of Lansing, Julie (Mark) Vandenboom of Lansing, Elizabeth (Tony) Arflin of South Carolina and Lara Morrison (Brenda Eaton) of Muskegon; several grandchildren also survive.
