Age 75, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 in Holt, MI. Louis was born in Detroit, MI on January 13, 1939, the son of Lowell Gardner and Helen Mildred (Hinkle) Jacobs. He grew up in Livonia, MI and settled in Lansing for the majority of his life. Louis was an IRS auditor for 30 years. He served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. He was an avid genealogist, loved to fish and was a true practical joker. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Rita; children, Daniel (Caroline) of Lansing, Julie (Mark) Vandenboom of Lansing, Elizabeth (Tony) Arflin of South Carolina and Lara Morrison (Brenda Eaton) of Muskegon; several grandchildren also survive. Private family services will be held at a later date. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Louis.
