He was born on May 12, 1957, to his loving parents, Avery and Frances (Caudill) James.
Darrell is survived by his brother, Ron (Rose) James of Pueblo, Colorado, and his sister, Helen (Lydia) Armour of Indianapolis.
Also surviving are a special nephew, Christopher Armour, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his brother, Kevin James.
Darrell was a 1975 graduate of Franklin Community High School.
He participated in the Special Olympics, where he received numerous gold medals in track and field.
Darrell was a huge, huge, Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers and Indiana University basketball. He loved kids, and most enjoyed spending time with his great-nephew, Jase Armour.
A celebration of Darrell's life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
