Hildebran, N.C. - Mr. Bradley Lewis Guthrie, 25, of Hildebran, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, as the result of an accidental drowning. Bradley was born Dec. 13, 1983, in Catawba County, a son of Debbie Nail Ireland of Union Grove. He was employed with Asplundh Tree Expert Co. as a general foreman. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Debbie and the Rev. Jerry Ireland of Union Grove; his fiancee, Nicole Marie Messinger of the home; two sons, Tylan Bradley Guthrie and Presley Chad Guthrie of the home; a brother, Brian S. Guthrie of Union Grove; a half brother, Clinton Wayne Guthrie of Claremont; a half sister, Angie Dawn Reid of Newton; and a stepsister, Dana Ireland Guthrie. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Wilhemina Buckner of Old Fort; his stepgrandparents, Roger and Ann Ireland of Union Grove; aunt, Diane Franklin; and uncles, Randy Franklin and Randy Nail, all of Valdese. The funeral service for Bradley Lewis Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, with the Rev. Jerry Ireland officiating. Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
