"Paula K. Stevenson, 75, of Glad Boulevard, Kent, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Thomas and Jeanne (Hildebrand) Keiser. She did her undergraduate work at Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. Paula taught at Muskingum College and received her master's of physical education from Michigan State. She went on to also teach at Florida State and Kent State University from 1955 to 1960. She was affiliated with the United Church of Christ of Kent, a member of the Portage County Master Gardeners Club, a member and past president of the Kent Elm Garden Club, Kent Coterie III, an avid painter and artist, and enjoyed biking, swimming, and golfing. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert Stevenson; sons, Mark. M. (Mary Beth) of Hinckley; Robert R. of San Anselmo, Calif.; daughter, Julie S. (Jeffrey A.) Smith of Mason; three granddaughters; and brother, Jere V. Keiser of Clemson, S.C. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas V. Keiser. Calling hours will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday at the United Church of Christ of Kent, with Rev. Patrick Russell and Rev. David Robinette officiating. A private burial will be at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Memorials may be made to the Portage County Gardeners Inc., 5154 S. Prospect St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
