Alene Johnson Smith, 85, of Martinsville died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Blue Ridge Manor. Born February 5, 1929 in Mount Airy, NC, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Porter Johnson and Flora Bryant Johnson and was the wife of the late Dewey Spencer "Buck" Smith. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Haynes; a sister, Ruth Pectol; four brothers, Leon Johnson, Arnold Johnson, Gale Johnson and Wayne Johnson.
Surviving are three daughters Debbie Ladd, Regina Smith and Heather McClure; two sisters, Melba Hutchens and Betty Jean Burnette; a brother, Dale Johnson of Hampton, VA; 3 grandchildren; a great-grandson.
The funeral will be conducted from the Martinsville Chapel of Norris Funeral Services Monday, May 19, 2014. Interment will be in Christian View Cemetery, Stoneville, NC.
