Obituary:

Following a fall of a fortnight ago and resulting heart difficulties and pneumonia, Mrs. Mary Decker, for many years a well known resident of Dundee, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Matilda Hartmann, in Hinsdale. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Thomas E. Ream, a former pastor of the local Methodist church, were held Tuesday afternoon from funeral parlors in Palatine with interment in the Palatine cemetery.

Mrs. Decker, widow of the late John Decker, who for many years was a flagman employed by the Northwestern railway at the East Main street crossing, was born in Aurora, Jan 29, 1856, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Kolze. She came to Dundee with her husband and family in 1904 and resided here until 1931. Three of her six children survive -- Mrs. Hartmann of Hinsdale, Mrs. Charles Shiley of Barrington, and Gus Decker of Barrington. Mrs. Reuben Rouley of Dundee whom Mrs. Decker reared to young womanhood, is one of ten surviving grandchildren, and there are 12 great grandchildren.
