Mrs. Hopkins, 84 Succumbs After Brief Illness .



Mrs. Keturah M. Hopkins, 84, a pioneer resident of Muscatine, died at her home. 1493 Washington street, at 2:30 p. rn. Monday after an illness of five days. She was born Nov. 28. 1853, in, Muscatine county and had lived here all her life. On Feb. 22, 1876, she was married in Muscatine to Thomas J. Hopkins, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of the Park Avenue Methodist church of this city, and of the Women's belief corps at Niles, Mich. Seven children survive, James and Will Hopkins of Flint, Mich., John Hopkins of Detroit, Mrs. Josephine Stewart oi Niles, Mich., Mrs. Lillian Wheeler of Vinton, Mrs. Martha Hesser of Rock Island, and Mrs, Nellie Duncan of Muscatine. A son and daughter. Berry Hopkins and Mrs. Evelyn Moody and her parents, Joe and Evelyn Dimmit Eveland, preceded her in death. The body was removed from the Fairbanks Home for Funerals to the residence at 1493 Washington street this afternoon. Rites will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Park Avenue Methodist church, with the Rev. . H. Killer, pastor, officiating. Buriail will be cemetery.
