Allen J. Achane, a resident of Jennings, LA. died on May 7, 2014 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1947 in Thornwell, LA to his loving parents, Clarence and Odeal Achane Sr.
Allen was a member of Jennings Mallalieu Methodist Church where he served on the Trustee Board and was a member of the United Methodist Men.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Jennings First United Methodist Church, located at 702 N. Cary Avenue in Jennings, LA. with Rev. Kimberly Richard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the church. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucretia Achane; three sons, Duane Drake, Dawon (Toni) Drake, and Water (Monessia) Drake, all of Lake Charles, LA; four daughters, Kimberly (Eddie) Cretchen of Jennings, LA., Hesterene Achane and Lana Achane, both of Lake Charles, LA; four brothers, Clarence Achane Jr. of Lake Charles, LA., Glenn (Cindy) Achane, Desser Achane all of Jennings, LA; three sisters, Louise (Marshall) Jackson of Welsh, LA., Alice Achane of Jennings, LA., and Genella LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA; father-in-law, Edward Nixon; three sister-in-laws, Renita Duplechan, Barbara Nixon, and Barbara Lazard; 18-Grandchildren; and 2-Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Odeal Achane; his father, Clarence Achane Sr; four brothers, Cleveland Jones Sr., Hilton Shillow, Robert Achane, and Wilford Achane; three sisters, Eldora Tezeno, Vivian Gonzales, and Nancy Jackson; mother-in-law, Hesterene White.
