Suggested edit: George Frank Fuchs, 85, Port Charlotte, died Feb. 3, 2005, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. He was born March 2, 1919, in Charlotte, N.C., and came to Port Charlotte in 1972 from Baltimore County, Md.

He retired as an industrial engineer for the Department of Defense and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a past commander and a member of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 98 of Charlotte Harbor.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Port Charlotte and Masonic Liberty Lodge 219 of Baltimore,

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris C.; a son, the Rev. George F. of Port Charlotte; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church. Entombment with military honors by the Navy will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel, is in charge.
