He retired as an industrial engineer for the Department of Defense and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a past commander and a member of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 98 of Charlotte Harbor.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Port Charlotte and Masonic Liberty Lodge 219 of Baltimore,
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris C.; a son, the Rev. George F. of Port Charlotte; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church. Entombment with military honors by the Navy will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel, is in charge.
