Johnny Ward was a pioneer of Yale, BC, he was a teamster, had part ownership of a hotel and with his wife Alice Squalalia raised a large family. The house he built for his wife and family is still standing and is now a part of the Yale Historical Site. (Thank you Sara Gilbert for your very large role in the work done to prepare the Ward house for visitors and for saving it's life. Your dedication, care, compassion, understanding and knowledge could not be passed by many. You are appreciated and if Grandpa Ward was here today he would definitely agree with all I said.)
