Pennington Gap, VA Barbara M. Waddell age 66, of Pennington Gap, VA, entered into eternal life with Jesus her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born April 15, 1948 in Jonesville, VA and was the daughter of the late Preston and Ruby McCauley. She was a lifelong resident of Pennington Gap and a graduate of Jonesville High School in 1966. She graduated from St. Mary's Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. Barbara retired after 40 years of service as a registered nurse at Lee Regional Medical Center. Barbara was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Woodway, VA, where she was an active member of the ladies circle. She was preceded in death by her father, Preston McCauley, mother, Ruby Jenkins McCauley; and husband, Gary Evans Waddell. Barbara is survived by her son, Chris Waddell and one daughter; Amanda Waddell Huff and son in-law, Richard E. Huff, and the light of her life grandaughter Haley E. Huff and grandson Hunter E. Huff.
Family will receive friends 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 16 at Sturgill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Doug Clem and Rev. Rusty Fitzpatrick officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 17 in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway.
