Kenneth Norman Proctor, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Phoenix. He graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California, in 1963 and Chaffey College in 1971. Upon graduation from high school, Ken joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. Later, he went on to join the Ontario Police Deptartment in Ontario from 1967-1972. He then joined the Henderson Police Department in Henderson until 1993. Ken was awarded the position of Municipal Court Judge in the Henderson Municipal Court. In 1994, Ken founded S.A.F.E. House, a domestic violence shelter for families. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, in Henderson. Burial following at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.A.F.E. House in the name of Ken Proctor, 921 American Pacific Drive, Suite 300, Henderson, NV 89014.
