Lois Lee Cain Logan, 86, of Arbor Acres Retirement Community, died on May 13, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Logan was born on June 15, 1927 in Bridgeton, NJ, daughter of Harold Samuel and Florence Lee Slaughter Cain. She was raised in Elmer, NJ, where her father served as mayor.

Her husband of 62 years, Ralph E. Logan, died in February 2013. She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Logan, of Winston-Salem. Other survivors include her sister-in-law, Elizabeth M. Cain, of Bridgeton, NJ, and niece, Suzanne C. Nurnberg (Rick), also of Bridgeton, and son, Markus K. Nurnberg.

Mrs. Logan was a graduate of Bridgeton High School, where she excelled in academics and athletics, especially tennis. Following high school, she graduated from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, majoring in physical education.

Her professional career in education included teaching at the Latin School in Baltimore, MD; Dover (DE) High School and Collingswood (NJ) High School. She retired from teaching after the birth of her son to be a full-time homemaker.

Mrs. Logan and her family lived in Wilmington, Delaware for over forty years before relocating to Winston-Salem in 2006 to be close to her son. Following their retirement, she and her husband spent nearly two decades splitting time between their homes in Wilmington and Palm Harbor, Florida, where they enjoyed many seasons of Philadelphia Phillies spring training games.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany in Winston-Salem, and an active former member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church in Wilmington.

Mrs. Logan was an avid sports fan and accomplished golfer, competing very successfully in tournament play.

She also enjoyed both domestic and international travel and travelled extensively throughout the world with her husband, family and friends.

A reception, where the family will receive friends, will be held on Wednesday, May 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Salem Funeral Reynolda location – 2599 Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem. A memorial service celebrating her life, led by Pastor Patrick V. Downes, and interment will take place on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 am at the Delaware Veteran's Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
