LEICESTER – Max Luther Morgan, Sr., age 78, of 402 Dix Creek Two Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Mr. Morgan was born March 5, 1936, in Buncombe County and had been a resident of Leicester all of his life. He and his son started Morgan Welding in 1990 and he loved to farm and fox hunt. Max was a veteran of the Korean War while serving in the Marines. He was a son of the late Jesse Wade and Fleecie Hawkins Morgan.

Surviving are his son, Max Luther Morgan, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Gardner, Virginia Deas, Martha Liner and husband Ronnie, and Mary Roberts; brother, Bruce Morgan; two grandchildren, Ryan Luther Morgan, and Derick Tyler Morgan, two great grandchildren, Rylie Morgan, and Rylan Morgan; and close family friend, Lester Morrow.

His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Corinth Baptist Church, Leicester, with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.
