L. Bernice Springer, 69, of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center of West Chester. She was the widow of the late Kenneth W. Springer, who passed away in 2008 after they had shared 41 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, Bernice was the daughter of the late Laura (Watterson) and Horace Prange. She was a graduate of the Oxford High School and became an RN after completing the Chester County School of Nursing. Bernice retired from Jennersville Regional Hospital in 2006. She was a very active member of the Cochranville United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities such as Knitters, the United Methodist Women, Altar Guild and Missions Board. Bernice also supported charities such as Spanish Health Mission, Operation Christmas Child and Chatham Acres. She enjoyed spending time with family and was a loyal and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by three children, Debra L. Stanton, wife of Allen, of Kirkwood, PA, Todd W. Springer, husband of Judy, of Swedesboro, N.J. and Brad S. Springer, husband of Joy, of Downingtown, PA; four grandchildren and siblings, Nelson Prange, husband of Judy, of Ocean Pines, MD and Nadine Hook, wife of Ed, of Cochranville, PA. She was preceded in death by one son, Craig W. Springer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11 AM at the Cochranville United Methodist Church, 92 Church Drive, Cochranville, PA, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Church from 9 until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cochranville UMC. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
