Jeanette Matilda Van Zante, daughter of Gerrit Van Heukelom and Alice Hoksbergen Van Heukelom, was born on July 20, 1913, and was translated to her eternal reward on August 23, 2009 at the age of ninety-six.

On August 16, 1938, she was united in marriage with Raymond Delos Van Zante, who preceded her in death on December 26, 1979, at the age of sixty-nine years.

From her youth she was of a kind nature and an obedient daughter, not only to her earthly parents but also to her heavenly Father whose she was by adoption through faith in Jesus Christ. She acknowledged her faith in Christ publicly on Easter Sunday morning at the age of sixteen and was received into the fellowship of the Third Reformed Church of Pella, Iowa.

God in His wise providence has taken her from a home and family where love was unashamed. She will be missed, but the memory of fellowship with her in love will be sweet. She has gone to share in the eternal mercies of God in Christ, and to join her mother, father, brother, husband where the "former things are passed away" (Rev.21:4)

Her children include Alice Van Zante, Donald (Christy) Van Zante, the late Robert (Barbara) Van Zante, Ruth (Edwin) Scott, Martha (Jerry) Grosskopf, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Jeanette's family also includes her three sisters: Elizabeth (Elmer) Van Zante of Eddyville, Iowa, Alda Hoekstra of Cherokee, Iowa, and Margery (Reuben) Van Hemert of Pella, Iowa; two sisters-in-law Lucille (Oren) Nevins of Pacifica, California, and Jennie Van Zante of Ottumwa, Iowa; her brother-in-law Marvin Van Zante of Fargo, North Dakota; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Preceeded in death by her mother, father, brother Louis, sister Nellie Kolenbrander, husband Raymond, son Robert.

DIED: August 23, 2009 Colorado Springs, Colorado
