QCT - Aug. 19, 2002 -- ROCK ISLAND — Memorial services for Rev. Dan Long, 99, formerly the pastor of the Broadway Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Private burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park.
Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of local arrangements.
He died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Walker Methodist Health Center, Minneapolis.
Before his pastorate at Broadway Presbyterian, he served the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Chicago and the Lake Nokomis Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis.
He was born Dec. 24, 1902, in Golden Valley Community of western North Carolina. He married Ethel Morris in 1929 in Murphysboro, Ill.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Long Hardy, Bloomington, Ind.; sons, Rev. Robert, Minneapolis, and David, Richland, Wa.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
