He married Phyllis Good on October 17, 1946. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2011.
Joseph spent most of his life as a hardworking farmer, who loved working the soil and his dairy farm that he raised his family on and got great joy in teaching them the hard working ethics. He also loved his time visiting and traveling from auction to auction with Joe's Wiener Wagon.
He dearly loved his wife and family, and will be missed by so many.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, in the Valton Friends Church, with Pastor Stan Bauer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Eden Cemetery.
