George Ashdown Audsley was an architect of a number of religious structures near Liverpool, England. In the 1890s, he immigrated to the New York City area and designed the Bowling Green Offices in Lower Manhattan, then the largest office building in the city. He also designed pipe organs including that in the Philadelphia Center City Macy's, formerly the John Wanamaker Store. He was the author of a number of books on ornament, Japanese art, and organ building.
