Floyd W. "Red" Richardson, 84, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Cornerstone Hospice of Tavares in Tavares, Florida.

Floyd was born on February 14, 1929 in Lexington, Indiana the son of Fred and Alma Louise Thompson Richardson. He married Mary Jane Hahn on June 30, 1951 in Blocher, Indiana, she survives.

Floyd retired on May 28, 1991 after 44 years from the CSX Railroad where he had worked as a track welder. He was a member of Blocher Methodist Church and National Campers and Hiking Association. He was a Seaman First Class in the US Navy serving from 1946-1948. His enjoyments were playing euchre, camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Richardson of North Vernon, Indiana; two sons, Donnie Richardson of Scottsburg, Indiana and Freddie Richardson of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Connie Young of North Vernon, Indiana and Marie (Shane) Everroad of Greenwood, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Kara (Alex) Richardson of Louisville, Kentucky, Kalea Richardson and Drake Richardson both of Scottsburg, Indiana, Tamara (Brandon) Palmer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Micky Richardson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeremy (Sherry) Richardson of Blocher, Indiana, Caitlyn Everroad and Courtney Everroad both of Greenwood, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Kadin Richardson and Madilyn Holiday both of Scottsburg, Indiana, Ziah King of Louisville, Kentucky and Finley Palmer of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and James Richardson.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Jimmie Webster officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana with member of Matt Hester Post #2021 providing military graveside rites.
