QC - July 12, 2003 -- Julie Ann Rowe, 42, of Moline died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, 7th Street Campus, Moline.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Elks Crippled Children's Foundation.
She was born Nov. 10, 1960, in Rock Island, the daughter of Richard W. and Janice Stai Rowe. She previously had been married to Bruce Smith.
Julie was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, working out of the Rock Island Post Office.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Elk and Phi Betta Kappa. She loved the Green Bay Packers, swimming in her pool, gardening, computers, and spending time with her children and friends.
Survivors (and spouses) include her mother, Jan Rowe, Rock Island; daughter, Jenny Smith, Moline; son, Mark Smith, Moline; sisters, Susan (Mike) Gannon, Rock Island, and Kelly McCarty, Pearland, Texas; brothers, Richard (Becky) Rowe Jr., Rock Island, Ryan Rowe, Rock Island; and maternal grandmother, Anna Stai, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her father and a special friend, Shelly Ayers.
