Catherine E. (Myers) Morin, 87, died May 13, 2014 at home in Urbandale, IA. Cathy was born March 24, 1927 in Boone, IA to Ralph Myers and Helen Myers. She graduated from Boone High School in 1945. She attended Stevens College for women for two years and then Northwestern in Evanston, IL were she earned a BA in Education in 1949. She and Bob Morin, her loving husband of 60 years, were married in 1949. Cathy supported the couple teaching 2nd and 3rd grade while Bob obtained his PhD. Cathy continued her career as a grade school reading teacher while raising a family.

She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking, attending social events at the university, supporting the arts and spending time with family and friends. Cathy traveled to over 15 countries in Europe and nearly all 50 US states. She had a huge soft spot for those she loved and was generous in her giving for their happiness.

Cathy is survived by her daughter, Patty (Denny) Bole of Johnston, IA; son, Mark (Jewel) Morin of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Bole, Leah (Josh) South, Jack and Grace Morin; and great-grandchild, Mercy South. She was preceded in death by her husband.
