***Mrs. Bea Lombard taught the first three grades at the two room school house in Houghton, called Caneadea #6. Darlene reports that the back of this picture says Mrs. Lombard taught grades 4-6, so Mrs. Knowlton taught grades 1-3. Then Mrs. Bogardus came and took over when one of them left, but she didn't have her as a teacher.
