NOTE: Don Lail said the birth date on her death certificate is incorrect. My research on Emma Lail Abee did not bring up much on her. I did find a child of Jacob "Yock" Lail, 1880 US Federal Census in Lower Fork, Burke County, NC, named: Emily Elizabeth Lail born Dec 1879. Assuming "Emma" is a nickname for Emily, then this should be Emma. Also per Don Lail, "Emma's mother died by 1883." Therefore Emily Elizabeth Lail would have been reared by her father and step-mother Louise Catherine nee Vanhorn. Her father's marriage to Louise Catherine VanHorn was "30 Sep 1883 in Burke County, NC". *This submitter is using the 1880 US Census date of birth for Emma on this memorial.
Died: 10 Dec 1969 in Catawba Memorial Hospital, Hickory, Catawba County, NC.

Mother: Catherine "Katie" Huffman,
she died between 1880-Sep 1883.
Spouse: Divorced, name not given on her death certificate. A marriage record shows she married Calvin Abee, 23 Nov 1909 in Burke County, NC.
Calvin was married once before his marriage to Emma. He later married a third time and used the name Dan or Daniel Calvin Abee and lived in South Carolina; he died in York County, SC and is buried in Kings Mountain, Burke County, NC per his death certificate.
Sibling: full sister - Dona Sarah Lail (1878-1946), wife of Johnnie G Lail.

Birth Record, Burke County, NC shows Roberts Clyde Abee as a son born 15 May 1915 to Calvin Abee and Emma SAIL - Emma's maiden name should read LAIL not SAIL. This son used the name Clyde Robert Abee or Clyde R. Abee. See FAG memorial #7517642 for Clyde's burial. I have submitted a correction to Clyde's memorial creator regarding his parents. Clyde Abee was the informant on Emma's death certificate.
